Previously listed on the Mainboard of the Singapore Exchange, OUE Hospitality Trust (OUEHT) was a stapled group with an asset portfolio comprising two well-known iconic hotels – the Mandarin Orchard Singapore and the Crown Plaza Changi Airport – and a high-end retail mall Mandarin Gallery.
Following a successful pitch, we were engaged by OUEHT to design their annual report. Our design approach was targeted at capturing the course of OUEHT’s five-year journey and how the Trust was charting a distinctive path in delivering on its promises of growth, value and returns to its stapled security holders.
Supporting the annual report with the tagline “A Distinctive Mark”, we developed a clean cover design to draw attention to our keyline illustration of OUEHT’s distinctive, iconic assets. The cover was hot stamped in gold, to represent the distinctiveness of its assets, excellent quality and class.
As the editorial content was heavy with narratives and tables, we used the Museo Sans typography as it is modern, sturdy and is of the highly legible sans serif typeface that makes it suitable for text display.
The inner pages were designed with mild pastel palette to enhance vibrancy and chaptered accordingly to differentiate the narratives. This eased the reading transition from page to page.
The clean design stood out for its understated finesse and yet spoke volumes to its investors. This is one of our best annual report examples for companies presenting a lot of information.
